I found this little gem of a place on my first trip to PV a couple years back and made it my first meal on my second trip.

I was able to catch tapas night each time (Mondays) where you just grab whatever tapas you want for I believe 30 pesos each. All the tapas I've had were beautiful and really fresh along with the drinks. Service has always been great on the now 3 visits I've had there. They're only open for dinner but it is a must try!

Let me start off by saying that on the day we arrived to Puerto Vallarta we were on a mission. We were only planning on staying a day within the area so we were on a food hunt. By the time we got to this restaurant it was 9pm. We were tired from walking for hours, visiting two restaurants and we didn't know what we were in for.

    The food was excellent.
    Drinks were excellent
    The service was excellent.

    Food-
Since i am sensitive to oil, they were more than willing to work out oil free items from the menu.
I got Tuna Tartar with lemon juice instead of oil.

    Drinks were really good.

    A must visit

My husband & I had dinner here after discovering that we were too wiped out from our day of ATV adventures to wander far from our hotel.

116 Pulpito was one of the higher-rated restaurants in the vicinity, and on the advice of the waiter, we ordered the tenderos (I think? The coconut fried shrimp), bacon-wrapped shrimp with blue cheese, croquettes, & my husband ordered a pizza with pepperoni, bacon, & some other kind of meat (I don't recall exactly).

The coconut shrimp is "plated", er... interestingly, with each shrimp dangling from a mini clothesline. This was entertaining, although the shrimp itself was pretty overcooked, and there wasn't much coconut flavor going on.

The bacon-wrapped shrimp was a bit less overcooked (only slightly), but I wasn't a huge fan of the shrimp-and-blue-cheese combo. Yes, I ordered it knowing that it was on there. I knew it would probably not be a winning combo. But I doubted myself, and it was the wrong call. So that one is on me.

The little potato croquettes were easily my favorite thing that we tried. They're served in a plate made to look like an egg carton (so cute!), and with a basil aioli shot out of a whipped-cream canister. I was into this gimmick, apparently, and the little croquettes themselves were delicious-- super airy & fluffy in the center.

I only had a couple bites of pizza, and it was alright I guess-- nothing to write home about, and the bacon on it was not terribly cooked, so it turned sort of rubbery.

Beverage-wise, I enjoyed a sangria that surprised me by arriving in a mason jar larger than my head. It wasn't super strong, which was decidedly for the best-- it's ginormous. And tasty!

Overall, we didn't really need to revisit this one, but were glad we satisfied our curiosity. I also learned a valuable lesson re: trusting my gut  & just never, ever ordering the thing with seafood & bleu.

Such a great little find. A friend had recommended and it did not disappoint. Lots of tapas to choose from as well as hamburgers and pizza. There is seating inside and a few tables outside. Order the coconut shrimp. Not only are they delicious, but they come out on a little clothesline.

Monday is Tapas Night!  Wide selection of beautifully prepared and tasty tapas.  Only 25 pesos each.  We had so many yummy tapas that we had no room for dinner.  Huge Sangrias in mason jars.  Small trendy spot with attentive and friendly service.  Air conditioning really welcomed on a hot humid day.
